Rangers will look back on this game and rue the chances they missed yet again and then falling to a sucker punch when as slip by the keeper gifted the visitors a hard earned point late in the game.
It was Torridgeside who almost took the lead on 10 minutes but a wonder save from Rob Holmes kept the score sheet blank when he diverted a close range effort on to the bar. It was then Rangers turn to strike the frame of the goal when Danny Baily’s effort from the edge of the bo0x rebounded to saftey. But Bailo was not be denied and when a Brandon Parsons effort was blocked he was first to react and smash the ball home from 6 yards and that is how it remained until half time.
Rangers were again on the front foot in the second half dominating play but in the space of a couple of minutes the visitors were ahead with two quickly taken goals. The visiting supporters were ecstatic to fine their team in front having been on the defensive for most of the game. But Rangers were not to be denied as the impressive Brandon Parsons struck twice with two opportunist goals so now surely we would go on to win the game but it was not to be. In the dying stages of the game Rob in the Rangers goal was caught in possession and the Torridgeside striker pounced to level the game at 3-3. Rangers bombarded the visitors goal in the last five minutes with corner after corner but the elusive winner would just not come.
Liam felt it was two points dropped “We had enough of the game to have won it comfortably but we were caught twice on the break chasing the game looking for a second goal and paid the price. I was pleased with the way we fought back to take the lead but then we concede a sloppy equaliser which I know Rob is really sick about but these things happen, even in thr Premiership.”
